Christmastime at Disneyland

December 20, 2012

We were so fortunate to be able to take a little winter getaway to Disneyland!  Let me tell you, while the snow was falling in Colorado, we were in sunny California in the happiest place on earth, with the most amazing Christmas decorations  I have ever seen.

I cannot imagine the amount of work that goes into decorating the park.  I found this interesting article about what they do to decorate.  Fascinating!  You can find that HERE

Of course, Christmas would not be complete without a showing from Jack Skellington.  In fact, the entire Haunted Mansion was overtaken by The Nightmare Before Christmas.  It was great immersion of the theming and was quite a spectacle.

The French Quarter had my favorite Christmas tree right near The Blue Bayou.  I just had to take a picture!

Garland and Mickey Wreathes covered much of Main Street USA.  Every place you looked had Christmas dripping from it.

The parade had a Christmas makeover as well.  There were gingerbread and tin soldiers, snowflakes and of course Santa Clause was in attendance!
May I admit?  The parades are one of my favorite things about a day at Disney!  I just love them.  The music and the magic!

And the dancing!

I was so impressed that every lamp post I saw in the park was adorned with these beautiful wreathes and bows.  I mean, the dedication to decorating and really bringing that Christmas feel is astounding!

One more shot of the cute Mickey Wreathes on Main!

The castle was the makings of a winter wonderland.  It was icy and beautiful.

Small world was infiltrated with gingerbread, candy canes and "Jingle Bells" played intermixed with the Small World song.  I can still hear it now.

I adored these Mickey ears with Santa hats that the children wore!

I like to think that if Walt himself were to walk through Disneyland today he would approve of the Disney Christmas decor.

I am not sure we will get the chance to visit Disneyland at Christmastime again, however I am glad we experienced it this once.  I was pleasantly surprised at the crowds.  The crowd predictor indicated that there should have been heavier crowds.  We were able to ride all of the rides (except Space Mountain as it was closed for refurb), without much of a wait.  It didn't seem to busy at all!

Merry Disney Christmas!

XOXO
