Why You Should Stay at the Grand Floridian
May 02, 2019
We were so lucky to have the opportunity to stay at one of the most beautiful hotels on Disney property, the Grand Floridian Hotel and Spa. We loved our time there, the boys thought it was like staying in a castle. There were so many comforts and reasons to stay at this hotel, I wanted to share them with you.
.
Proximity to Parks-
This is the closest resort to Magic Kingdom. You can literally see it from some of the rooms, or from the Seven Seas Lagoon right on property. It is just a mere hop skip and a jump to get to the parks from this amazing hotel. That means less time traveling and more time playing.
Transportation-
This hotel not only offers one, but three transportation options. You can catch the monorail from the second story terminal that will take you to Magic Kingdom, The Polynesian or the Contemporary Resort. You can also take a boat from the property across Seven Seas Lagoon right to the entrance of Magic Kingdom. Of course, you can also take the bus system to any of the other parks.

Room Size and Comfort
These are some of the largest rooms on Disney property. The beds are comfy. Let me tell you, you will sleep like a princess, or a prince. We had a hard time leaving these beds behind! Oh and don't forget, like any deluxe hotel, you will get that turn down service!
Dining Options-
This hotel boasts a full gamut of choices for dining. You can find quick service options, character meals and fine dining options all in this one hotel! We enjoyed Citricos on our last stay as well as The Grand Floridan Cafe. They had great options for me as a gluten free diner and plenty of options that my kiddos were happy with.
Character Meals
There are a couple of character dining options at this one hotel! If you like character dining, you may want to consider staying here so you can be close to the action. 1900 Park Fare offers the Supercalafragelistic Breakfast and Tea time with princesses.

That Lobby
The flooring has beautiful marble character inlays, the chandeliers are enormous and opulent and there are tons of places to sit and enjoy the ambiance. In the lobby you can enjoy music most times during the day. There is a pianist who plays on the most beautiful grand piano. The orchestra plays from the second story and is such a lovely touch to the lobby experience. I feel this is the most beautiful lobby on all of Disney World property. Even if you are not staying here, I recommend stopping in to just take a look. You won't be sorry.
Pools
This hotel not only has one great pool but two! It begins with a small pool set up perfectly for little kids with a kiddie play splash area and a hot tub for the grown ups to enjoy.
There is also a larger pool with a 181 ft water slide that is one of the best pools on Disney World property!
Spa
This is one of the only hotels on property that has a spa. What a nice way to take a break from the parks. It is also nice to know if you need to handle a chipped or broken nail or get a blow out if needed right in your own hotel.
Fireworks View from the Lagoon and the Electrical Water Pageant
This is one of the few resorts that have amazing fireworks view. Right from the beach of Seven Seas Lagoon you can experience the view of the fireworks from Magic Kingdom, they even pipe in the music so you can enjoy it in full. Go ahead and dig your toes in the sand and enjoy the show. Also seen from the beach of the hotel is the Electrical Water Pageant which happens nightly on Seven Seas Lagoon.
Extra Fun Touches
Campfire with S'mores and Outdoor Movie Nights
