Disneyland 101- The Top Rides at Disneyland and California Adventure
February 11, 2019There are so many great rides at both Disneyland and California Adventure. It can be hard to choose which ones to go on, which ones to get fast passes for, which ones are worth your while.
Let me set this straight right here, I think they are ALL worth while, and if you have time you should absolutely ride every single one of them.
If you don't have time or the crowds are too thick, here are my top ten rides in each park. This is of course my personal opinion (and opinion of my family). They are all great and these just happen to be my favorites.
Disneyland
1. Splash Mountain- This one is a wet ride. It is super fun and has a super sweet tale with a big log drop at the end. Our families favorite overall for sure.
2. Space Mountain- Classic Disney here. Super fun and in the dark. No big drops but fast coaster through space makes it super fun.
3. Big Thunder Mountain- The wildest ride in the wilderness. Nothing too scary here but fast and fun.
4. Peter Pan's Flight- The best ride from Walt's days in the park. Classic and so well done. Plan on waiting for this one as the line is super long and no fast passes are available.
5. It's a Small World- Another Classic Walt ride. Some love it, some hate it. We are in the love category.
6. Jungle Cruise- Witty humor and an adventure on a boat through the jungle. All the yes!
7. Indiana Jones- This one is a bit jostling and pretty spooky. Rider beware.
8. Winnie the Pooh- The cutest ride in Critter Country. It is a fun family ride.
9. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride- I mean, Mr. Toad goes to Hell in this ride. It is one of the park originals and just kinda funny. We love it.
10. Star Tours- Travel through the worlds of Star Wars on this ride.
California Adventure
1. Radiator Springs Racers- Race with the help of Mater and Lightning Mcqeen through Radiator Springs. It is the best ride in the park. You will need a fastpass for this one.
2. Soarin'- Try to get top center if you can. This ride is so awesome and you get to see the world. Open your nose for the smells of the world as well.
3. Incredicoaster- This on Pixar Pier and you go upside down. No little guys allowed, but worth it for bigger kids and adults!
4. Toy Story Midway Mania- Compete with your family for high score!. This ride is a family fave for sure. Get a fastpass, its always busy.
5. Goofy's Sky School- Classic style coaster here. It is fun and often doesn't have a long wait. A couple of quick drops but nothing too scary.
6. Grizzly River Rapids- Wet ride! You will get soaked! This is a rafting ride. Hit it up when you are hot.
7. Little Mermaid- This is a sweet story ride with some super fun animatronics.
8. Gaurdians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout- This one has a pretty big drop. My kids don't like it. But my husband and I do. Most ages can ride it, but it is kinda scary.
9. Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters- Silly family ride, but pretty fun in Cars Land.
10. Silly Symphony Swings- My kids absolutely love this one. Over on the Pixar Pier. You get in a swing and twirl in circles to music. Mickey is at top as conductor of the orchestra.
There you have it. My top ten rides at both Disneyland and California Adventure. I hope you make your way to some of these. Let me know what rides are your favorites.
