Best Quick Service Restaurants in Disneyland and California Adventure
April 08, 2019
Eating in Disneyland and California Adventure can be overwhelming. There are so many amazing options and some not so amazing options. Do you need reservations? Will you find options that everyone will enjoy? What about time? Will eating waste too much time? If you are planning on partaking in some of the quick service options around the parks, keep reading. I am going to delve into the best quick service options in Disneyland and California Adventure.
First stop, Disneyland. Here there are so many beloved options that have been around for many years.
1. Jolly Holiday Bakery-
This one makes the top of my list because it is iconic to the park but also because they have yummy options. I personally love the Gluten Free Grilled Cheese sandwich and tomato soup. I love that they have options that cater to gluten free. Even if I wasn't gluten free, this place gets rave review. My dad and my husband love the Reuben. The salads are fresh and divine. My boys love the turkey noodle soup. Of course, we cannot forget, it is a bakery and they offer many fresh baked treats. I love the Raspberry Mickey Macron. The famous Matterhorn Macaroon is found here along with many other Disney themed baked goods.
2. Bengal BBQ-
The top reason this makes my list is that it is one of the healthier options in both parks. My family loves the meat skewers! I don't have to even talk them into it. We all love this healthy option. The bacon wrapped asparagus skewer is a fan favorite as well. They easily convert all of then to gluten free for me without a bat of an eyelash. Plus, they always have plenty of room to sit and take a little rest before hitting up Indiana Jones or The Jungle Cruise.
3. Red Rose Tavern-
Red Rose is a great option especially if you are looking for some quick breakfast in the park. Also found in the Red Rose is the famous Grey Stuff, which is actually an Oreo mousse atop a cookie. Everyone should try the Grey Stuff at least once.
4. Rancho del Zocalo Restaurant-
This one is a go to for us. Everyone can find something they like here. They offer Mexican fare. My favorite thing is the salad station but I do also enjoy the Street Tacos. The flan here is fantastic and there is always plenty of seating. We love to sit by the windows overlooking Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and watch the train go by.
5. Royal Street Veranda-
This one makes my list because everyone in my family loves the quick options here. When I say quick, I mean it. Walk up, place your order, wait like 3 minutes and eat. As far as Disney goes this place is fast! Here they serve bread bowls with soup options like Gumbo or Chowder. There are not gluten free options here, so this one is a dud for me, but affordable and quick for the rest of my family so it makes the list.
Moving on to California Adventure!
I am going to be honest, there isn't as much over here for quick service that we love. When in California Adventure we generally eat at sit down restaurants. That being said, lets talk about what there is for quick service food options in California Adventure.
1. Flos V-8 Diner-
This place has some great options. We like to go for a quick breakfast in the park sometimes once the crowds start coming in. They also have a great salad option and of course burgers and fries. Below is my breakfast. They allowed me to order the kids portion and it was perfect.
2. Cozy Cone Motel-
Another spot that I personally cannot enjoy but my family does. The cones filled with yummy options are a great handheld quick option. My youngest loves the mac n cheese option and my oldest goes for the chili.
3. Garden Grille-
This option is over on the Pier. It is very quick and there is always seating. We like it as an option to take a break while the kids go ride the Jumping Jellyfish or the Golden Zephyr. The menu here rotates pretty often so it may be different from one visit to another. At one point it was Greek food which we loved. Last time we went they had street taco options. Currently they are offering spins on park food. I have heard amazing things about the Buffalo Style Turkey Leg.
4. Cocina Cucamonga Grill-
Another Mexican food option! This one has bowl options with your choice of protein and toppings. They have guacamole to go on top of your bowl! There are other items like tacos and enchiladas as well. They do so well with gluten free options here! Seriously this one is a win for the entire family.
5. Poultry Palace-
This places looks like a big box of chicken so big high five to Disney for their theming. Meals here are simple, a chicken leg, corn on the cob and coleslaw. Simple is sometimes just what you need in the parks!

Bengal bbq is my favorite! Great suggestions!
ReplyDeleteThis is really helpful. When I go to theme parks we never have sit down meals, not only do they cost more but we never have enough time
